On April 14, 2021, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Copyright and Legal Issues in the Industrial Property Sphere” took place in Moscow in a hybrid format. The event was dedicated to the World Book and Copyright Day. The conference was organized by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) together with the International Scientific and Educational Center “UNESCO Department for Copyright, Related Rights, Cultural and Informational Rights” of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”.

The conference participants discussed the benefits of using digital technologies when registering copyright objects, as well as the peculiarities of enforcing the rights of trademarks and of industrial designs’ authors in the context of innovative ecosystem development.

Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Uladzimir Rabavolau addressed all the conference participants with a welcoming speech. He noted the need to ensure proper protection and enforcement of the intellectual activity results, primarily through the improvement of the regulatory framework in the intellectual property sphere.

When addressing the organizers of the conference, Uladzimir Rabavolau stressed the importance of international cooperation for the intellectual property system development and integration of its certain elements in all spheres of life in the global transformation context.

“The Republic of Belarus fully supports your initiative and recognizes the need to create a favourable environment for the successful implementation of the countries’ intellectual capacity at the national, regional and international levels”, stated U.Rabavolau.
