III International Round Table «IP Law: History of Formation and Prospects»

As part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) and the Belarusian State University (BSU), on March 13, 2024, the III International Round Table «Intellectual Property Law: History of Formation and Prospects» was held at the Faculty of Law of BSU.

The event was attended by the Deputy General Director of NCIP Aleksandr Zayats, Head of the Patent Documentation and Editorial Department Aleksandr Mazanik, and specialists from the Database Creation Division of the Patent Documentation and Editorial Department Ekaterina Prudnikova and Alina Komar.

The event was dedicated to discussing current problems in the theory and practice of intellectual property law, proposals for improving national legislation, taking into account the history of development and advanced foreign experience.

During his welcoming address, A. Zayats noted the expansion of interaction between BSU and the Patent Office.

Every year, the representatives of the Law Faculty actively participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference of the NCIP Intellectual Property in the Contemporary World: Current Challenges and Development Prospects», publish scientific and practical articles in the journal «Intellectual Property in Belarus».

BSU students regularly participate in the NCIP competition among young people for the best work in the field of intellectual property. In addition, they undergo pre-diploma internship at the NCIP’s departments and have the opportunity for further employment.

Also, since 2020, the Technology and Innovation Support Center has been operating at BSU with the support of NCIP.
