Every year on March 15, the Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus is celebrated. The Fundamental Law of the state was adopted 30 years ago, on March 15, 1994, at the 13th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus of the 12th convocation and is still in force with amendments and additions adopted at republican referendums on November 24, 1996, October 17 2004, February 27, 2022

Currently, the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus contains 9 sections, 9 chapters and 156 articles.

According to Article 51 of the Constitution, intellectual property is protected by law.

In honor of the Constitution Day, the BELTA news agency has prepared a special project dedicated to the Fundamental Law of the Republic of Belarus.

This project reflects the chronology of establishing the constitutional framework in Belarus and the key stages of changes connected with the rapidly changing political, socio-economic and cultural context.
