No. 1 (2024) of the journal «Intellectual Property in Belarus published an article by Yuri Nechepurenko (Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Head of the Scientific and Innovation Department of the Belarusian State University «Research Institute of Physico-Chemical Problems») on «The Market of Industrial Property Rights in the Republic of Belarus».

In the article, the author analyzes the market of industrial property in the Republic of Belarus in 1993-2022. It is shown that during the studied period, the dynamics of registration of agreements on the disposal of industrial property rights in the patent authority of the Republic of Belarus has a positive trend. There is a tendency to increase the share of complex entrepreneurial license (franchising) agreements and license agreements with a decrease in the share of assignment agreements. The author concludes that the public sector has a significant share of the market for licensed trade in industrial property, and scientific organizations and universities occupy a dominant position as licensors for granting rights to use plant varieties, inventions and production secrets (know-how).
