World Intellectual Property Day

April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day. The theme in 2024 is «Intellectual Property and the Sustainable Development Goals: Innovation and Creativity for a Shared Future». The World Intellectual Property Organization brings together these important concepts, which in today's world play a key role in the well-being of society and the conservation of natural resources. By supporting the development, protection and enforcement of intellectual property (IP), encouraging innovation and creativity, it is possible to create a future in which everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the common welfare of society.

Today's society faces the challenges of sustainable development and the use of IP as a powerful tool for achieving national interests. Combining these two aspects opens up the possibility of creating innovations for the well-being of society and shaping a sustainable future.

The Sustainable Development Goals, known as the SDGs, are a plan of action to combat poverty, promote shared prosperity, protect the environment and ensure sustainable economic growth. Realizing the SDGs requires an innovative approach based on the use of IP to develop new technologies, production methods and resource management.

The National Center of Intellectual Property values the contributions that creators and innovators make to economies and societies around the world.
