On January 20, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the «Belarus Intellectual» exhibition of scientific and technical achievements at the National Exhibition Center «BelExpo. The head of state got acquainted with the achievements and developments of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, representatives of educational institutions, public and private research organizations of the country, and technoparks that are engaged in scientific research. More than 400 exhibits will be on display at the exhibition. They include full-scale specimens (including large-size equipment), models, and multimedia presentations on big screens.

«People need to be shown this exhibition. We have enough of everything not only for defense and security, but also for peaceful life,» noted the Belarusian leader.

The head of state was especially interested in developments in the field of artificial intelligence. He had discussed this topic earlier during meetings with foreign partners. «If you need support or big contacts, you can rely on me. I will support and help if necessary.

Alexander Lukashenko toured the stand where Belarusian-made computers manufactured by Horizont were presented. Similar equipment has already been placed on the President's desk instead of a device of a well-known Western brand, he said.

«You're good. You have shown that we can do anything. And no matter how hard it was, we did it,» said the Belarusian leader. He stated that even in the West they understand that «one should stop fooling around and cooperate with Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko, referring to the level of localization of the produced computers, said: «Thank you for now. But 70% by the end of the year.

In general, he stressed the importance of developing the sphere of artificial intelligence and microelectronics. «If we want to be great in terms of intelligence, this is the future, the foundation,» said Alexander Lukashenko.

The President was also informed in detail about a number of other developments - laser technologies, production of innovative batteries, developments in the field of electric transport and space, defense and security. We can single out unmanned aerial vehicles, which are designed not only for the army, but also for agriculture. They are used for field treatment to apply crop protection products.

The head of state traditionally pays a lot of attention to the agrarian sector. Taking into account the fact that the issues of food security in the world are quite acute, the developments of Belarusian agricultural scientists are especially relevant. They were also widely presented at the exhibition.

At the end of his visit to the exhibition Alexander Lukashenko was presented with a book about the history of the Belarusian statehood. On September 1, students have been studying this history at Belarusian universities.
