In the first half of 2023, the Judicial Board on Intellectual Property Cases of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus considered 75 court cases related to disputes in the intellectual property field.

56 cases were disputes related to copyright and related rights; 19 cases are disputes related to industrial property rights, of which 1 case is a complaint against the decision of the Board of Appeals under the Patent Authority, 1 case is a complaint against the decision of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus.

The most common copyright lawsuits are debt collection and compensation, accounting for more than half of these disputes. The Judicial Board on Intellectual Property Cases has partially or completely satisfied half of the claims in disputes related to copyright. 9 cases were terminated due to reconciliation of the parties, and refusals amounted to about 14%.

In the field of industrial property, more than half of the disputes are attempts to collect license fees. 6 cases were related to legal protection of trademarks.
