Using the economic potential of the Union State makes it possible to largely offset the negative impact of the sanctions pressure on our economy. Sergei Shlychkov, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, expressed this opinion to the BELTA correspondent.

He noted that the Union State Council of Ministers has recently discussed cooperation between the two countries in the development of microelectronic technologies, design and production of electronic component base and electronic engineering, the development of joint exchange trade. «An important role in this direction is assigned to the implementation of scientific and technical union programs. For many years, this institute has proven its success. In total, Belarusian and Russian scientific organizations have successfully implemented more than 60 such programs. Science and economy of the partner countries have received hundreds of the newest developments of the world level. The subjects of the programs are new technologies, defense and security, space, photonics, supercomputers, information security, hydrometeorology, medicine and more,» said Sergei Shlychkov.

Cooperation between Russia and Belarus in science and technology is a prerequisite for successful economic development of the two countries and strengthening of integration within the Union State. Particular attention in joint scientific research is paid to such promising areas as intelligent systems of information analysis; new materials and technologies, opto- and microelectronics; space instrumentation and technology. «In particular, the Complex-SG scientific and technical program is a continuation of already implemented space projects of the Union State. Its implementation is planned to start already in the first quarter of this year. This program is aimed at creating nano-satellites, instruments for atmospheric observation and monitoring. We expect that by 2026 a small spacecraft and two nanosatellites - one Russian and the other Belarusian - will have been built. For our country this will allow us to close the gap in the development of domestic instrumentation that is associated with the creation of small satellites. One satellite will weigh 200 kilograms and two others will be smaller - about 10 kilograms,» says the Chairman of SCST.

He stressed that one of the small satellites will be made in Belarus. In addition, scientists will develop new algorithms of interaction of satellites both with the Earth and among themselves within the constellation, several ground stations for receiving and transmitting information will be created.

«Implementation of such a large-scale program will allow us not only to create and produce high-tech products on our territory but also to train personnel for the space industry. Different institutes of the National Academy of Sciences, industrial enterprises, universities and other organizations will be involved in the program from our side,» said Sergei Shlychkov.
As part of the scientific and technical program «Intelavto» there are plans to develop systems of on-board electronics of vehicles, which are superior to the existing world analogues, including engine control units, on-board safety units, robotic vehicle control systems, highly efficient electric motors and other components for electric and hybrid transport.

The «Accelerator-SPR» programme that is currently being developed will make it possible to create new high-tech productions of advanced gas pedal technology for Belarus and Russia, and enter the markets of high-tech equipment in third countries (currently, the main centers for the development and production of similar equipment are in Germany, the USA and Japan), and will also create the basis for the Union State's first multipurpose research, training and production gas pedal complex. The main consumers of the products resulting from this program will be the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna), the Russian Federation's gas pedal technology development centers, and the leading international gas pedal organizations.

As part of the planned Soyuz-Biomembranes program, innovative diagnostic tools will be developed, as well as target-oriented drugs for point-of-care effects (sometimes at the cell level) on diseases of immune nature, which will significantly increase the effectiveness of treatment of oncological, rheumatic, infectious diseases, as well as diseases of the nervous system. The result of the program will be the development of personalized medicine in the Union State, based on the use of genetically engineered drugs and diagnostic procedures with a high degree of individualization to the patient.
