Theater season starts! Since the beginning of September, Belarusian theaters open their doors and delight audiences with a wide range of performances: from premieres to already favorite plays.

The theater is a place where creative intellectual property is embodied. We remind you that the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) manages, on a collective basis, property rights to works (musical, dramatic, choreographic, etc.), as well as to performances.

If your works or performances are actively used in theatrical production, and you have not yet managed to register them with the NCIP or have not entered into a rights management agreement to further receive remuneration for their use, then the NCIP is in a hurry to remind you of this possibility. It is difficult for copyright holders to track the use of their works and/or performances on their own, so our collective management organization will save time and resources, ensure the protection of copyright and related rights, and also provide information about the use of your works.

If you are a person who uses works and performances (user) and wants to stage a play, catalog (repertoire) of NCIP is at your service, which presents a wide selection of Belarusian and foreign authors and stage directors. Since NCIP has contractual relations with many foreign collective management organizations, our users have access to plays and other works by authors from all over the world. If you plan to show plays using works of both national and foreign authors, and it is difficult to obtain permission to use such works, then you can also contact the National center of intellectual property. If the user sends a corresponding request, NCIP will help with issuing a permit or assist in obtaining it.
