On June 29, 2022 in Grodno within the framework of the seminar "Development of Technology and Innovation Support Centers Network in Belarus. Role of Geographical Indications in Protecting of National Brands" agreements on opening two new TISCs was signed.

The TISCs will operate in the Y. Kupala Grodno State University and Grodno State Agrarian University (GSAU).

"Recently, several technology and innovation support centers have been opened successively in Belarus. Two new ones will be opened in Grodno. These are very convenient platforms to support those engaged in creative and inventive activities," said Armen Azizyan, Vice-President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization.

"Such centers should be opened in all higher education institutions of the country. This is a real support to innovations, which the country needs today. We know that the future belongs to new technologies and ideas. For example, last year Grodno Agrarian University opened an innovation technology center. There are four branch laboratories in the agrarian education system, three of them belong to our university. Three branch laboratories include the innovative technology center, where the most advanced ideas are concentrated. Take, for example, the DNA technology center: it has become so extensively integrated into the production process that it has become an internship site for teachers, students and trainees at a number of universities in Russia. The same can be said about the embryo transplantation center. Russian students are constantly being interned, learning these methods and introducing them to their country. And, of course, we are working together to update this process," said the rector of GSAU, Vitold Pestis.

As the vice-rector for scientific work of Y. Kupala Grodno State University Andrey Pronevich noted, much attention is paid to the development of innovation technologies in the university. "Since 2018, the university has been participating in the pilot project of the Ministry of Education of Belarus "University 3.0". Education, science and entrepreneurship are three areas that are very closely linked. One of the areas in our university's strategy is an innovation-responsive university. We pay a lot of attention to developing innovative entrepreneurial competencies of our faculty members. Every student at our university takes a course in entrepreneurship and has the opportunity to participate in a start-up and project school, in order to show their skills and competencies at the InNaStart competition. We hold two such competitions every year, with around 100 participants. At the moment, the results are indisputable, and 11 residents of the Kupala University Science and Technology Park are our employees and students," he said.
