On June 30, 2022 in Grodno within the program of the IX Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in the section "Common scientific and technological space of Russia and Belarus as a factor of global competitiveness and security of the Union State" Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Uladzimir Rabavolau made a presentation on "Regulatory legal framework that forms relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in the intellectual property field, including within the Union State".

In his speech, Mr. Rabavolau focused on the fact that Belarus and Russia are actively developing cooperation in different areas, including intellectual property. In this field the interaction is carried out at the global, regional levels and in the framework of bilateral relations within the framework of the Union State.

"In the framework of regional alliances both countries have developed common approaches to protection of intellectual activity results, our rightholders on the Internet. Within the framework of bilateral cooperation there are 17 intergovernmental agreements that regulate the relations in the intellectual property field ", he said.

Mr. Rabavolau also stressed that more than 60 scientific and technical programs of the Union State have been implemented since 2000.

"These programs and their respective events are co-financed by the state bodies of Belarus and Russia, which has a direct impact on distribution of rights to intellectual activity results," he noted.

At the end of his speech, NCIP Director General summarized that intensification of activities in this area will contribute to strengthening of integration, scientific and technical, socio-economic and cultural potential of the two countries.
