NCIP’s Leader met with WIPO Director General

A working meeting between NCIP Director General Uladzimir Rabavolau and WIPO Director General Daren Tang was held at the WIPO headquarters on July 17, 2022.

The meeting took place in frames of the 63rd series of meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). During the meeting Mr. Rabavolau expressed the interest of the Republic of Belarus in the further development of effective mechanisms to increase the applicant activity and stimulate inventive activity, as well as in the introduction of modern practices of patent analytics.

"In order to develop the export potential of the country, the issue of state support for patenting of Belarusian developments in other countries, especially far abroad, is relevant," said Mr. Rabavolau.

Mr. Tang, in his turn, said that WIPO will continue to support the development of the intellectual property system in Belarus.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, Mr. Rabavolau confirmed the readiness to resume the work on the organization of the visit of the head of WIPO to Belarus in 2023.

It should be recalled that the invitation on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Belarus had been earlier extended by the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei.
