NCIP’s representatives took part in Young Inventors and Innovators International Forum

On May 25 – 27, 2022, Veliky Novgorod hosted an The International Forum of Young Inventors and Innovators (Forum). The Forum was organized by the Federation Council, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Eurasian Patent Office, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property and others.

The Forum was attended by young inventors, scientists, representatives of creative industries (arts and crafts) in the age from 18 to 35 years old, who are well known in their countries through recognized innovative developments with a high level of patent protection and readiness for commercialization.

The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) was represented by its First Deputy Director General, Aliaksei Kurman and Head of Industrial Property Examination Department Alena Usachova.

The event program included Kurman’s working meeting with Head of Rospatent Yury Zubov. In the course of the meeting the issues of legal protection of geographical indications, regional assistance in detecting the objects that are subject to protection as geographical indications, advantages of intellectual property objects, possibilities of commercialization were discussed. Participants of the meeting also touched upon the activities of the Sub-Commission on Intellectual Property of the Commission on Creation of Common Scientific and Technological Space of the Union State of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, prospects of development of the Sub-Commission, filling the agenda for the next meeting, new cooperation forms.

Chairman of the Central Council of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators Anton Ischenko and Aliaksei Kurman also had a meeting during which they discussed the issues of cooperation and exchange of experience in supporting development of invention, rationalization, engineering and technical creativity, joint information and educational events. They also worked out forms and directions of cooperation to be included in the agreement on cooperation between the institutions which is now being prepared for signing.
