The seminar "Development of Technology and Innovation Support Centers Network in Belarus. Role of geographical indications in protecting national brands” will be held in Grodno on June 29, 2022.

The event will be organized by the National Center of Intellectual Property and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The event will cover the issues of innovation support and development of the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) network in the Republic of Belarus, functioning of digital platforms and tools of the World Intellectual Property Organization within TISCs, types of basic and additional services provided by TISCs, search technologies using different registers, and licensing and technology transfer at TISCs.

The second block of the seminar will be devoted to the legal protection of geographical indications and their role in protecting national brands. By getting the right to use a geographical indication, Belarusian manufacturers not only confirm the originality and quality of their products, but also contribute to building a positive image of the their region, city, village, and the country as a whole.

Additionally, the event will include the ceremony of signing agreements on opening of TISC points at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Grodno State Agrarian University.
