Lyudmila Semenovna Yeshchenko was born on April 5, 1944 in the village Pagost, Berezinsky district, Minsk region, in the family of teachers. In 1966 she graduated from the S. M. Kirov Belarusian Technological Institute. She has been working at the Belarusian State Technological University since 1966, Professor of the Department of Technology of Inorganic Substances and General Chemical Technology.

Scientific interests of Lyudmila Semenovna are connected with scientific bases and technologies of obtaining inorganic compounds of given compositions and properties and creation on their basis of multifunctional technical materials, in particular adsorbents, catalysts, magneto- and electrorheologically active fillers, pigments for paints, rubber, construction. industry, salt compositions for detergents.

Under the scientific leadership of L. Yeshchenko were developed:

  • technological processes for obtaining pigments, filler pigments, active fillers for electrorheological suspensions, low-phosphate, phosphate-free compositions for detergents and cleaning agents;
  • on the basis of local secondary raw materials, the method and composition of zinc iron phosphate anti-corrosion pigment, non-abrasive cleaning agent, and synthetic detergent were developed and introduced into production.

Lyudmila Yeshchenko is the author of more than 250 scientific papers, 80 inventions, and 2 textbooks. She was awarded the «Outstanding Education of the Republic of Belarus» sign (2004), the thanks of the President of the Republic of Belarus (2011), the 1st degree diploma for leading scientific work in the 6th competition of projects of young scientists dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of P.J. Sarkisova (Moscow, 2012).
