In 2023, the Judicial Board for Intellectual Property of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus considered 148 court cases related to intellectual property (IP) disputes.

119 cases were disputes in the field of copyright and related rights; 29 cases were disputes in the field of industrial property law, of which 4 cases were complaints against decisions of the Board of Appeals of the Patent Office, and 1 case was a complaint against a decision of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus.

The most common claims related to copyright protection are debt collection and compensation, which accounted for more than half of such disputes. The Judicial Board for IP cases partially or fully satisfied more than half of the claims in copyright disputes. Seventeen cases were terminated due to reconciliation of the parties, and rejections amounted to 57.5%.

In the field of industrial property, twelve disputes were attempts to recover license fees. Eight cases were related to the legal protection of trademarks.
