A videoconference meeting session of the Consultative and Reference Council (CRC) took place in the National Center of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus on June 18, 2020.

The invited participants of the event were the NCIP’s Director General Mr. Uladzimir Rabavolau, Deputy Director Anzhela Plenkina, Head of Copyright and Related Rights Department, Mr.Alexander Denisman.
Following the event agenda, the NCIP CRC informed its members about the 2019 yearly results in collective management of economic rights as well as perspectives in focus complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, the election of the Consultative and Reference Council Chairman was discussed, which is preconditioned by the early death of the previous Council’s Chairman Mr. O.Molchan. The latter was not only an outstanding representative of Belarusian variety art though also was highly proactive in protecting copyright both in our country and the Eurasian economic community territories by charing the Eurasian confederation of societies of right holders.
The Council members have unanimously voted for electing Ms. I. Vidova-Molchan the acting head of the Consultative and Reference Council. Decision to be made about electing the Council’s Chairman has been postponed till the next meeting.
The Consultative and Reference Council of the National Center of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Belarus represents the right holders’ interests (or their entrusted representatives) and manages their rights.
