On September 25, 2020, within the framework of the 61st Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) a working meeting between the Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) Mr. Uladzimir Rabavolau and Director of the Department for Transition and Developed Countries (TDC, WIPO) Mr. Michal Svantner took place in a videoconference format.

The event was also attended by the representatives of WIPO –Head of the Section for Caucasian, Central Asian and Eastern European Countries (TDC) Mr. Ilya Gribkov, Assistant Program Officer of TDC Mr. Oleksandr Shevchenko; representatives of NCIP – Head of the Legal and Human Resources Department Ms. Tatsiana Kavaleuskaya, Head of the International Cooperation Division Mr. Arthur Akhramenka, as well as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Mr. Dmitri Fomchenko and Counsellor of the Permanent Mission Mr. Dmitri Doroshevich.


Within the framework of the meeting, the parties summed up preliminary results of jointly held events for 2020, discussed and agreed on the action plan for 2021.

Representatives of WIPO and NCIP confirmed their readiness to maintain the existing level of bilateral cooperation aimed at implementing joint projects and activities to improve national legislation in the intellectual property field, as well as provide technical support for the implementation of ePCT, IPAS and WIPO Connect electronic systems in NCIP.
