The webinar was attended by over 50 experts from EAPO and its member states specializing in the industrial design application examination.

The webinar was organized to study the EUIPO experience on the most relevant aspects of working with industrial designs. In particular, the webinar’s agenda focused on the examination procedure, classification tools, approaches to the new types of industrial designs (graphical interfaces, virtual industrial designs, etc.), harmonization of the EU member states’ approaches in regard to formal requirements for the application.

A separate session within the webinar covered the issues of industrial designs protection, procedures for registration reviewing, law enforcement practice and decisions of the appeal bodies.

In the introductory part of the event, the participants were also informed about the latest results of the work on the establishment of the Eurasian system of industrial designs legal protection and the EAPO activities in this area.
