Examination and registration of industrial property objects in the first half of 2020

The National Center of Intellectual Property, functioning as the patent authority, conducts examination, registration of industrial property objects and the issuance of protection documents.

The data illustrating the progress achieved during the period from January 1 to June 30, 2020 is presented below.

Thus, in the first half of 2020, 521 applications were submitted for the grant of patents for inventions, utility models, industrial designs, plant varieties and registration of topographies of integrated circuits.

Dynamics of Application Filing for Granting Patents for Inventions, Utility Models, Industrial Designs, Plant Varieties and Registration of Integrated Circuits Topographies in the First Half of 2020

In the reporting period, 237 inventions, 141 utility models, 119 industrial designs, 7 plant varieties and 15 topographies of integrated circuits were registered.

The total of 4,481 trademark applications was filed in the first half of 2020.

In the first half of 2020, 1,440 trademarks were registered in the State Register of Trademarks and Service Marks, which is 11.6% higher than in the same period in 2019.

The total number of valid patents and certificates in the Republic of Belarus as of July 1, 2020 is 48,132 (as of July 1, 2019 – 47,957, a 0.4% increase).
