On July 19, 2021, the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs of July 2, 1999 (the Geneva Act) came into force for the Republic of Belarus.

From now on, the Republic of Belarus has become the 66th state party to the Geneva Act and the 75th – to the Hague Union.

Besides the Republic of Belarus, the benefits of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs are used by 92 states.

To obtain an industrial design patent in any state party to the Geneva Act, it is necessary to draft one international application in one language and send it to one receiving office (International Bureau of WIPO) with minimal expenditures (one set of fees in one currency).

Please note that applications for the international registration of industrial designs, are to be prepared in accordance with the requirements set in the Geneva Act and submitted directly to the International Bureau of WIPO.
