Doctor of Sciences (1989), Professor (1998), Academician of the Belarusian Engineering Academy (2004), scientist in the field of polymer physics.

On September 19, 1947, in the village of Sodokombinat, Mikhailovsky District, Altai Territory, a polymer physics scientist, Victor A. Goldade, was born. In 1971 he graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute with a degree in engineering and physics. Since 1972 he has been working at the Institute of Mechanics of Metal-Polymer Systems named after V.A. Bely of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus as an engineer, since 1989 – head of the laboratory "Polarization of polymers", since 2009 – head of the "Hermetology" department. From 1991 to 2000 he combined scientific work with teaching at Gomel State University (1991-1994 – Professor of the Physics Department at the Belarusian State University of Transport, 1994-2000 – Professor of the General Physics Department).

The main areas of research cover electrical and magnetic properties of polymers and polymer composite materials (including nanocomposites); packaging films; sealing and anticorrosive materials; polymeric fibrous filter materials; modification of chemical fibers.

Major achievements: developed scientific foundations for regulating the structure and properties of polymer and composite materials using electric and magnetic fields; discovered the phenomenon of electrical polarization of polymers in contact with electrodes of dissimilar metals and the emergence of a new type of polarized state – metal-polymer electrets; substantiated the regularities of orientation of filler particles and structural elements of a polymer matrix in a magnetic field, leading to anisotropy of strength, magnetic and electrical properties of ferroplastics. He developed a physical model of electret charge relaxation in fibrous polymeric materials obtained by the "melt blowing" technology (pneumo-extrusion spraying of polymer melt). In 1986, as a member of the authors team, he sold a license "Anti-corrosive polymer film and technology for its production" to the Swiss company "Interplastica" for 900 thousand Swiss francs.

V. Goldade is the author of over 270 publications and 190 inventions (including patents of the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland and other countries). He has published (in collaboration) 15 monographs, 4 textbooks and manuals.

V. Goldade collaborates and has joint publications with scientists from Russia, the USA, Germany, Poland, the Republic of Korea. Twice, in 1995 and 2001, he was awarded the DAAD professorship (German Academic Exchange Service). V. Goldade had internships at the Institute of Physics of the University of Potsdam and the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Goldade V.A. is Deputy Chairman of the Specialized Council for the Dissertations Defense at the IMMS NAS of Belarus for the specialties "Condensed Matter Physics" and "Materials Science (Mechanical Engineering)", Chairman of the Section of the Scientific Council of the IMMS NAS of Belarus "Condensed Matter Physics". He trained 2 candidates and 1 doctor of sciences. Victor Goldade was awarded the Diploma of the International Biographical Center (Cambridge) "For Achievements in the 20th Century" (2000).
