On May 13, the Grodno branch of the Republican Library on Science and Technology (RLST) held a training on IP-related topics for schoolchildren. Experts of the library-based Information Center for Sustainable Development spoke about “professional” holidays of inventors, promising discoveries in various spheres, world-famous brands, “patent wars”, global patent information databases and how creative ideas can be implemented by people of different ages.

Also, the participants also discussed environmental issues, and visited the exhibition of crafts made from industrial wastes called “Second life of garbage”.

To date, Belarus state policy is aimed at creating favourable conditions to help the younger generation implement their ideas. Thus, various educational programs are launched in all regions of the country; many extracurricular activities are carried out. One of the bright examples is the campaign “Start for New Ideas!”. This project organized by RLST in cooperation with the Belarusian Republican Youth Union will help enhance creative imagination and thinking, and will also show the young inventors unusual ways of solving various tasks.

Based on the RLST materials.
