NCIP and EAPO held a working meeting on the EAPO-ONLINE implementation

On March 19, 2021, as part of the work on the implementation of the EAPO-ONLINE system at the National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP), a working meeting was held with the experts of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO).

NCIP was attended by the Head of the Industrial Property Examination Department Alena Usachova, Deputy Head of the Industrial Property Examination Department Marina Patselina, Head of the Automation and Patent Documentation Department Victor Korneichik, Head of the International Cooperation Division Arthur Akhramenka and Leading Specialist of the Industrial Property Examination Department Svetlana Kotul.

On behalf of EAPO the event was attended by the Head of the Patent Information and Automation Department Anton Ovchinnikov, Head of the Control and Records Management Division of the Expertise Department Andrei Kondrat, Deputy Head of the Formal Examination Division of the Examination Department Ikrom Tahirov and Deputy Head of the Division of Paperless Information Technology Development of the Patent Information and Automation Department Denis Zastavny.

During the video conference, NCIP and EAPO experts discussed the technical aspects of the EAPO-ONLINE introduction, including the procedure for sending Eurasian applications with the Eurasian number by the national IP office, creation of electronic documents and their copies, use of electronic signature certificates, as well as measures to prevent unauthorized access to the EAPO-ONLINE system and means of cryptographic information protection.

The participants closed the meeting by noting the high level of NCIP technical readiness for the implementation of the EAPO-ONLINE system and expressed interest in signing of an Agreement on the Electronic Exchange of Documents on Applications for Issuing Eurasian Patents and Eurasian Patents between the IP offices.
