NCIP Director General addressed participants of the XXIV International Conference of Rospatent "Transformation of IP in the Contemporary Environment"

The XXIV International Conference of Rospatent "Transformation of IP in the Contemporary Environment", being held on October 20-21, 2020, has been opened.

Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the international event within the framework of the plenary session. He congratulated Rospatent and its Head Grigory Ivliev on the 65th anniversary of the organization, noting that the history of the Russian IP Office has far deeper roots. According to Uladzimir Rabavolau, the organization has made an enormous contribution to the development of not only national, but also regional and international intellectual property (IP) system.

As for the current event, the Head of NCIP stated that it is a unique platform for experience exchange on various issues of IP development.

In addition, taking this opportunity, U. Rabavolau informed his colleagues that NCIP continues to work on improving the national IP system.

“This year we will complete the development of the National Strategy of the Republic of Belarus in the Sphere of Intellectual Property for 2021-2030. This document will set forth the main priorities and guidelines for our development in the medium and long term. I would like to express my gratitude to the World Intellectual Property Organization for the support provided in drafting this document. We are ready to share our experience with our colleagues. At the same time, I would like to reiterate our interest in consolidating and systematising the practices applied by our counterparts. I believe this event will also contribute a lot to this,” he noted.

The Head of the Belarus IP Office expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the conference for the opportunity to take part in such a large-scale forum.

The program of the conference provides for the work of thematic sections, round tables, discussions, where speakers and moderators make presentations, and representatives of government bodies, public organizations and other IP experts take part in the discussions.
