On September 7-8, Minsk hosts a meeting of the Working Group on Military-Economic Cooperation under the chairmanship of the Head of the Interstate Commission for Military-Economic Cooperation (ICMEC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

The Working Group meeting was attended by the representatives of the National Center of Intellectual Property – Director General Uladzimir Rabavolau, Deputy Director General Aliaksandr Zayats and Head of the Industrial Property Law and Treaties Division of the Legal and Human Resources Department Artur Karaev.

It is planned to finalize work on drafting the following IP-related documents within the framework of the meeting:

  • Recommendations for determining the optimal practices and methods of legal protection of jointly obtained intellectual activity results within the CSTO framework of military-economic cooperation;
  • The procedure enabling military-economic cooperation participants to appeal to the Coordinating Council under ICMEC of CSTO regarding the issues of mutual protection of rights to intellectual activity results obtained and used in the course of military-economic cooperation within CSTO, based on the facts of alleged infringement of intellectual property rights.
