REGIONAL SEMINAR “PATENT LAW TREATY (PLT)”

The seminar was attended by representatives of IP Offices of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Patent Office, as well as patent attorneys, representatives of higher education institutions, research institutes and large enterprises of Belarus, having active role in patenting.
During the seminar Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Petr Baltrukovich, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property Piotr Broukin, Program Officer of the Department for Transition and Developed Countries of WIPO Evgeniy Sesitsky, Legal Officer of the Patent Law Division of WIPO Aida Dolotbaeva, Chief Specialist of the Patent Law Department of the Patent Office of Estonia Vera Tereshenkova, Head of the Patent Law Division of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (Rospatent) Victoria Galkovskaya and Aurelia Cheban, Head of the Department of Appeals, Complaints and Quality Control Examination the Eurasian Patent Office made speeches.
The experts reviewed the most topical issues on the implementation process of Patent Law Treaty. During the round table of the seminar experiences on the implementation of the above Treaty were shared by participants from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan - member countries of PLT.
In continuation of the seminar on April 27, 2016 a working meeting of experts of IP Office of Belarus with WIPO officials on accession of our country to the Patent Law Treaty was held at the National Center of Intellectual Property. During the meeting procedural aspects, problematic issues on the topic were discussed, and prospects of further work were identified.
