Results of improving IP legislation in the III quarter of 2020

In the III quarter of 2020, the National Center of Intellectual Property prepared 1 draft international treaty and 25 draft normative legal acts in the IP field, including 4 draft edicts of the President of the Republic of Belarus, 4 draft laws of the Republic of Belarus, 8 draft regulations of the Council of Ministers of the Republic Belarus, 9 draft resolutions of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus (SCST), as well as 2 draft orders of SCST.

Those issued (adopted, signed) are: 2 regulations of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, and 9 resolutions and 2 orders of the State Committee on Science and Technology.

The most important normative legal acts adopted during the period under review are:

Regulation of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated August 28, 2020 No. 512 "On Granting Consent to the Use of Certain Designations";
Regulation of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of August 7, 2020 No. 468 "On Approval of the Provision on the Procedure for Granting the Right to Use a Geographical Indication";
Regulation of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated August 24, 2020 No. 499 "On Consideration of Complaints, Objections, Claims by the Board of Appeals under the Patent Authority" and Resolution of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus dated September 15, 2020 No. 13 "On Approval of the Provision on the Board of Appeals under the Patent Authority”.
