On October 20, 2021, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Intellectual Property in the Contemporary World: New Challenges and Development Prospects” was held in a hybrid format.

The conference brought together the heads of state bodies and organizations of the Republic of Belarus, leading experts in the intellectual property sphere from Belarus, Russia, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization, the World Intellectual Property Organization and other institutions. Conference speakers represented about 50 organizations. The organizing committee of the conference received more than 100 reports. The reports, which have successfully passed scientific expertise and peer review, by the decision of the conference organizing committee will be published in the collection of scientific articles of the conference.

The head of Rospatent Grigory Ivliev delivered the welcoming address, noting the mutual willingness of the Russian and Belarusian sides for communication, cooperation and experience exchange.

“The conference participants' reports cover a wide range of topical issues in the intellectual property field, including extremely important issues of commercialization and stimulation of inventive activity. I am convinced that the event will allow participants to find new effective approaches to developing the intellectual property system, build a constructive dialogue, and establish cooperation”, said Grigory Ivliev.

At the end of 2020, two significant documents were signed, reflecting modern and promising areas of cooperation between the National Center of Intellectual Property and Rospatent: the Memorandum of Understanding and the Memorandum on Providing Access to the PatSearch Patent Information Retrieval System.
