Belarus and Israel plan to hold the 1st High-Tech and Innovation Forum on information and communication technologies, innovative materials, bio-and nanotechnology in Minsk. Such an agreement was reached during the meeting of the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel Alex Goldman-Shaiman.

It is planned that representatives of government bodies, scientific, practical and innovative enterprises, universities of both countries will take part in the work of the Belarus-Israel Forum. The program will address promising areas of bilateral scientific and technical cooperation, as well as promotion of joint innovations and science-intensive products of various industries of Belarus and Israel to foreign markets.

Currently, the implementation of 4 joint Belarus-Israel scientific and technical projects related to digital agriculture, as well as development of methodology and models for managing scientific and technical processes, are being completed.

Taking into account Israel's successes as a world leader in venture capital activities, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in this area, as well as the possibility of using the Israeli experience in building a venture capital ecosystem in the Republic of Belarus.

Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property, also took part in the meeting, and the parties discussed the issues of expanding cooperation with Israeli colleagues in the intellectual property sphere.

Belarus-Israel scientific and technical cooperation is developing within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the sphere of education, science and culture, as well as the agreement between the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the State of Israel dated May 21, 2018.
