SUB-REGIONAL SEMINAR "INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICIES FOR UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS"

The event was organized by the National Center of Intellectual Property in cooperation with the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Polotsk State University and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Representatives of ministries, agencies, executives and specialists of leading institutions of higher education and scientific-research establishments of the Republic of Belarus became guests of the Seminar.

In the course of the Seminar reports on the most topical issues of management of intellectual property in universities were presented by employees of WIPO, representatives of Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Ukraine as well as Belarusian experts. Preconditions for efficient knowledge transfer and commercialization of intellectual property were explored and the consultation on issues of development of policies in the sphere of intellectual property in universities was held.

Moreover, in the framework of the Seminar the Polotsk State University was awarded with the WIPO IP Enterprise Trophy for its contribution and successful cooperation to the aim to support the efforts of the State to develop stable conditions for building respect for intellectual property.
