Interesting
Madrid Monitor is a free database created by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to search for trademarks and to check whether each of them has been granted protection in the target markets of the Madrid Agreement countries. Madrid Monitor is a single system containing a module for direct trademark search and determination of the current legal status of trademarks, the Madrid Electronic Alert service for electronic notifications of changes in that status, and a special WIPO bulletin with data on new international registrations and renewals.
Trademark searches are available in both simple and advanced modes, including images, which is particularly important for individualization tools. Each found mark is provided with bibliographic data, including information on the date and country of registration, the name of the right holder and the language of filing. The system also provides the user with a summary of each document found and a table of the legal status of all the marks identified. As a result, Madrid Monitor allows tracking the status of international trademark applications or registrations, including competitors' marks, which makes it in demand by patent offices, patent attorneys, applicants and entrepreneurs.
