On May 12, 2021, the President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) Saule Tlevlessova and Assistant Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Marco Aleman, who oversees the Intellectual Property (IP) and Innovation Ecosystems Sector held a video conference.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the WIPO-EAPO joint project designed for IP commercialization capacity-building of technoparks of the Eurasian region. The meeting was attended by heads and staff of the Division for Information and Knowledge Access of the Department for Transition and Developed Countries (WIPO), heads of EAPO structural divisions.

The event was a follow-up to the negotiations started by S. Tlevlessova and M. Aleman in January 2021 after the appointment of Mr. Aleman to the post of Assistant Director General of WIPO. This interaction made it possible to significantly intensify the work on the project addressing technoparks of the region.

In their speech the EAPO delegation proposed WIPO to ensure due dynamics of the joint project implementation and use the remote communication format until the COVID-19 pandemic is on the decline.
