On June 29, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Minsk time, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in collaboration with the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) held a webinar "Current Trends and Problems of Intellectual Property Commercialization in the Countries of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe".

The event was organized to raise public awareness of the importance of intellectual property commercialization and share best practices in this field.

Not only recognized experts from WIPO and EAPO – Mr. Michal Svantner, Director, Department for Transition and Developed Countries (TDC), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Ms. Saule Tlevlessova, President, Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO), were invited to participate but also the representatives of the largest technology parks in the region. The Republic of Belarus was represented by the experts of the Belarus High-Tech Park and the Great Stone Industrial Park, as well as representatives of the National Center of Intellectual Property – Mr. Uladzimir Rabavolau, Director General, and Mr. Dzmitry Andryieusky, Head of the Division of Registration and Promotion of Industrial Property Commercialization.

The webinar participants discussed current trends in cooperation with technology parks, as well as mechanisms to promote the protection of intellectual property objects. International experts have repeatedly highlighted the key role of intellectual property in development of innovative potential of the region.
