WIPO Director General addresses the participants of the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Intellectual Property

Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Daren Tang delivered a video message to the participants of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Intellectual Property in the Contemporary World: New Challenges and Development Prospects”.

In his welcome address he noted that WIPO published the Global Innovation Index 2021 in September. The document shows that Belarus continues to strengthen its positions in the innovation sphere. It was noted that over the past two years the country has climbed 10 positions. Belarus has achieved significant results in the areas of human capital, education, research, as well as science and technology.

On behalf of WIPO D. Tang, congratulated our country on the results achieved, including the recent accession to the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement and the Marrakesh Treaty. “The signing of the above documents confirms Belarus striving for deeper interaction with the global intellectual property system,” he stated.
