An expert mission of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) arrived to Belarus to tackle the issues pertaining to the development of the National Strategy in the sphere of intellectual property.

Mr. Ron Marchant, CB, FRSA, a WIPO IP expert, U.K., and Mr. Serguei Zotine, Senior Legal Counsellor, Division for Certain Countries in Europe and Asia, WIPO,  commenced the examination of a Draft National Strategy of Belarus in the sphere of intellectual property for 2011 – 2020, elaborated by the National Centre of Intellectual Property (NCIP) in collaboration with the parties concerned. Following the outcomes of the WIPO mission work, a revised Draft National IP Strategy, having the conclusions and guidelines, made and drafted by the experts, incorporated in the draft doucment, will be discussed at a workshop, which is to take place at the NCIP on 14 December, 2010. The workshop is to be attended by the representatives of the state authority and bodies, the institutions and sectors of science, education, culture, business and by the leading national IP experts.
