The “WIPO for Authors” Consortium is ready to welcome its first partners within the framework of the new initiative aimed at supporting creative people around the world. The initiative strives to expand knowledge about intellectual property rights and ways to manage them.

The Consortium was created in 2020 as an open public-private partnership, initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Music Rights Awareness Foundation. The Consortium is designed to bring together authors and other stakeholders around the world and create a community that will contribute to the achievement of its key objectives.

The list of the Consortium’s members includes: International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC); Organization for Standardization of Digital Data Exchange (DDEX); International Authors Forum (IAF); International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP); International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI); Independent Music Publishers International Forum (IMPF); International Publishers Association (IPA); Societies' Council for the Collective Management of Performers' Rights (SCAPR).

Currently, the Consortium’s activity is aimed at creating a network of participants, sponsors and partners, while developing an online platform, which will contain high-quality training videos with the participation of well-known representatives from each creative industry so that the authors can quickly receive answers to their questions of interest.
