WORKSHOP ON ACCESS TO TECHNOLOGY FOR INNOVATION AND ON ESTABLISHING A TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION SUPPORT CENTER (TISC) NETWORK IN BELARUS

Representatives of higher education institutions, research institutes, libraries, enterprises of Belarus, as well as Belarusian and Eurasian patent attorneys became participants of the Workshop.

Mr. Anatoliy Siltchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, Mr. Andrew Chajkowski, Head of the Innovation and Technology Support Section of WIPO, and Mr. Piotr Broukin, Director General of NCIP, addressed welcome speech to the participants.

In the framework of the Workshop Mr. Andrew Czajkowski, Ms. Iryna Rudakova, Head of the Division of Registers and Industrial Property Economics of NCIP, Mrs. Olga Vial, Head of Regional Policy of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property of the Russian Federation, and Mr. Mariusz Młynarczyk, Patent Examiner of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, made presentations.

The speakers covered issues such as promotion and support of innovations, the other countries’ experience in establishing TISC Networks and patent search tools and strategies. During the roundtable the participants had the opportunity to discuss with the experts the project of establishing a TISC Network in Belarus.

The Workshop was closed by handing over certificates to the concerned for participation in the training course on patent search.
