To the attention of customers of patent information services. On the new edition of the contract of adhesion

Please note that from January 16, 2024, amendments to p. 2 of the contract form for the adhesion of paid services, approved by section four of paragraph 2 of Edict No. 113 of the Director General of the National Center of Intellectual Property dated August 22, 2022 (as amended by Edicts No. 7 dated January 12, 2024), enter into force, it is supplemented by sub-paragraphs 2.3 and 2.4, from which should be:

• in the case of applying for an accelerated examination earlier than six months from the date of filing an application for trademark registration, it is NOT REQUIRED to attach a request for an accelerated examination earlier than six months from the date of filing the application, since by agreeing to the terms of the contract for the provision of paid services, the customer assumes responsibility and risks associated with an accelerated examination earlier than six months from the date of filing an application for trademark registration, as well as liability and risks, related to the invalidation of the provision of legal protection to a trademark in accordance with p. 2 of art. 25 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated February 5, 1993 No. 2181-XII «On Trademarks and Service Marks»;
• in the case of applying for an accelerated examination earlier than twelve months from the date of filing the application for an invention, it is NOT REQUIRED to attach a request for an accelerated examination earlier than twelve months from the date of filing the application, since, agreeing to the terms of the contract for the provision of paid services, the customer assumes responsibility and risks associated with the conduct examination earlier than twelve months from the date of filing the application for the invention, as well as the responsibility and risks associated with invalidation of the patent for the invention in accordance with p. 2 of art. 33 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus No. 160-Z dated December 16, 2002 «On Patents for Inventions, Utility Models, Industrial Designs».
