On September 29, 2022, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) held a scientific and practical workshop on "Organization of Technology and Innovation Support Centers' Activities and Current Issues of Protection and Management of Intellectual Property Rights.

Opening the seminar, BSUIR Vice-Rector for Research Victor Stempitsky focused on the relevance and importance of the legal protection of intellectual property for scientific activities of young scientists and students. Particular attention to this issue is also confirmed by the establishment of the Center for Technology and Innovation Support (CTIS) on the basis of the university last year.

In his turn, Director General of NCIP Uladzimir Rabavolau emphasized that Belarus is among the world leaders in IT-services export per capita. The annual output of IT-specialists with higher education in Belarus is about 7 thousand, but the "main supplier" of IT-specialists in the country is BSUIR. Moreover, he added that the previously established TISC makes it easier for researchers to find information on existing developments, thereby helping to enhance the research work of young scientists, as well as contributes to even greater intellectual potential of the university.

NCIP experts in their speeches also shared their knowledge and experience in the following areas: innovation support and development of the TISC network in the Republic of Belarus; feasibility assessment and selection of the optimal form of legal protection of the results of intellectual activity; patent information search, its types and objectives; topical issues of copyright for works of science, etc.
