The National Centre of Intellectual Property (the NCIP) has expanded the list of information available on its website regarding protected industrial property rights.

«The Patent Office’s electronic databases now support trademark searches based on the Vienna Classification of Figurative Elements indices assigned to them» said Aliaksei Kurman, Director General of the National Centre of Intellectual Property (the NCIP). This type of information search, implemented in the NCIP system since June 2026, opens up additional opportunities for identifying means of individualisation registered in our country that are similar to one another in appearance or even identical to one another.

The search field «International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks» is used to search by Vienna Classification indices; it is available on the «Trademarks» tab within the «Databases» section of the agency’s official website. This field also includes an example of how to complete it, which further simplifies its use and ensures the accuracy of the results obtained.

This new search function can be used for a wide range of tasks: from obtaining reference data on market conditions to conducting marketing research.

It should be noted that the NCIP previously expanded the functionality of its databases by implementing keyword searches within the formulas of registered inventions and utility models.
